Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
I built this site to help people plan a remodel without losing their minds. Collecting your data is not the point of it. But some information does get collected when you visit, sign up, or buy something, and you deserve a plain explanation of what and why.
This policy covers crownedbybrooke.com, operated by CrownedByBrooke, LLC, and anything I send you by email.
What I collect
When you sign up for the free checklist or my email list. Your email address, and your first name if you give it. This goes to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the service I use to send email. That's it. I don't ask for anything else.
When you buy a digital product. Your name, email address, and billing details. Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles that, and I only see the last four digits and whether the payment went through.
When you just visit. Standard web analytics through Squarespace, which hosts this site: pages you viewed, roughly where you are in the world, what browser and device you used, and which site sent you here. This is aggregate. I use it to learn which posts are useful, not to identify you.
When you contact me. Whatever you type into the contact form, plus your name and email so I can write back.
What I don't collect
I don't ask for your address, phone number, birthday, or anything about your home beyond what you choose to tell me. I don't run ads on this site. I don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, ever.
Cookies and affiliate links
This site uses cookies, which are small files your browser stores. Some are necessary to make the site work. Others are analytics cookies that tell me how the site is being used.
Affiliate links are the part worth understanding. Many product links on this site are affiliate links, including Amazon. When you click one, the retailer places a cookie in your browser so they can tell they sent you. If you buy something, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That cookie belongs to the retailer, not to me. I don't see who you are or what you bought, only that a sale happened.
I'm a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
Who else touches your data
I use a small number of services to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Squarespace, for hosting and analytics
- Kit, for my email list and delivery
- Stripe, for payment processing
- Amazon Associates and other affiliate programs, for affiliate link tracking
- Instagram and Pinterest, if you click through to my accounts, where their policies apply once you're there
I share your information with these services only to the extent needed to run the site. I don't give your information to anyone else, except if I'm legally required to.
If you join my list, you'll get emails from me: new posts, remodel lessons, and things I'm loving. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're off the list immediately, no questions and no hard feelings.
Your choices
You can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe using the link in any email
- Ask what I have on you, and I'll tell you
- Ask me to delete it, and I'll remove you from my list and records
If you're in California, the EU, or the UK, you have additional rights under your local privacy laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Reach out through the contact page and I'll honor those requests.
Children
This site is meant for adults planning home projects. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given me information, contact me and I'll delete it.
Security
I use reputable services that encrypt data in transit, and I keep the number of places your information lives as small as I can. That said, no site on the internet is perfectly secure, and I can't promise absolute protection.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be noted on the page.
