My Story

My husband and I have renovated every home we’ve ever lived in. This is our fourth—and by far our biggest.

Our family has grown right alongside our homes. It was just the two of us for the first renovation. We had one child by the second, three by the third, and all four of our children are growing up in this one.

My husband is a real estate developer and general contractor who builds multifamily communities, so construction has been part of our lives for years. Along the way, I've helped with the design and selections for four spec homes, the renovation of an apartment community, and I'm currently helping finish the design of a luxury home on a golf course.

Being involved in those projects has given me a front-row seat to the building process—not just the beautiful finished spaces, but the hundreds of decisions that have to happen before you ever get there.

I've seen how much easier a project becomes when selections are made early, measurements are documented, sources are organized, and everyone involved knows the plan. I've also learned what happens when those decisions aren't made soon enough.

That's a big part of why I created Crowned by Brooke: to take what I've learned through our own renovations and the projects I've been fortunate enough to be part of, and turn it into practical resources that help homeowners feel more prepared and confident in their own projects.

The House We’re Renovating Now

This is the big one.

We added onto the house, took the entire main floor back to the studs, remodeled most of the upstairs, rebuilt the exterior, and added a new balcony, outdoor living area, and pool.

The renovation has taken nearly three years, and most of the main construction will finally be complete within the next few months. Even then, we’ll still have spaces left to finish—a playroom for the kids, a theater, a man cave, a wine cellar, and an outdoor kitchen.

I’ve photographed nearly every stage: the framing, the dust, the decisions, the mistakes, and the rooms that are finally beginning to come together.

This is where I share the real process—not just the finished reveal.
